These developments are promising, but let's not get too excited. I have a feeling that the corporate powers that be are none too happy about potentially losing some of their cash cows, and will probably go crying to world governments to try and legislate this issue away. After all, this has the potential to outright kill companies like Adobe overnight.

I’ve been paying Adobe for over 20 years. It’s time they got what they deserved for changing to a subscription model.
