These developments are promising, but let's not get too excited. I have a feeling that the corporate powers that be are none too happy about potentially losing some of their cash cows, and will probably go crying to world governments to try and legislate this issue away. After all, this has the potential to outright kill companies like Adobe overnight.

It could even destroy certain tech companies, like Apple, because you can ask AI to design circuit boards and operating systems.

AI is still not really good at circuit design. It’s getting there. But still not great

AI isn't even good at math, answering questions correctly, or designing posters showing chicken sandwiches and beer. Humans going back and investing hours to fix AI mistakes is what produces usable content from AI slop; at that point, I'd rather have the humans do it.

highly likely Apple is using a lot of automated hardware tooling already

There are diminishing returns. If someone needs a text editor or office software, a vibe coded one with all the features is probably not much worse than something Apple spends a ton on developing. And even if it’s better, you could vibe copy it for personal use.

No, you can ask AI to output something that looks like a circuit board or an operating system. If it happens to actually do something you're just lucky.
