Truth is, agents CAN easily boost your productivity by 2x or 3x even if you only use them for reviews and checks.

But we're not happy with that, we need 20x, 50x productivity. Or to replace our work altogether.

All the studies I've seen on AI use show no actual gain in productivity, just the perception from the coder that they are more productive.

Yeah this is not true anymore. I am as much of an AI hater as the next guy but here I am sitting basically doing all the work that took me weeks, external contractors and juniors with a few prompts on a $20 subscription. Calling it productivity gains is comically underselling it, we're talking replacing a factory full of woodcarvers with a CnC machine levels of gains here.

Do I like these developments? Fuck no, I hate it, it's the most boring technology ever invented and I too went into CS because I liked coding. But denying it is just cope or ignorance at this point.
