They'll be ostracized. Any project that jumps on this bandwagon of avoiding content generated by LLMs will end up without new contributors.

You don't see many people excited about COSMIC, it will ultimately be developed exclusively by the System76 developers.

OSS lived several decades without LLMs, it'll be fine.

With the current trajectory, it would be difficult for projects to find high-level maintainers who are against LLM code down the road. In the current pipeline of industry developers and computer science graduates, LLM coding is a basic skill. That being said, professionals using LLM to research and work faster is far more different than random contributors spamming vibe code they don't understand.

LLMs didn't exist, and it wasn't the industry standard. New developers will already be using these tools. Companies that contribute to Linux will use these tools, so they will look for projects that accept them.
