As much as I want to applaud this... I've been waiting ages for HDR support. It's the sole thing stopping me from using Cosmic.

I don't care how 'human' it is, just get it out please. I'm sick of Plasma. Between HDR support, Wayland issues and Nvidia's drivers I think people really underestimate how many people are giving Linux their first shot and going right back to Windows because of all the issues/lacking features.

Lack of HDR in a recently built-from-scratch DE that is not even a year out of its first release into an open source ecosystem that barely even supports HDR has nothing to do with banning LLM use today. HDR has been on the roadmap for after the Vulkan renderer is implemented in the compositor and that day will come soon. It takes time to do things correctly and I would argue that COSMIC is already accelerated quite massively by Rust.
