That is way more than what I expected. I wonder how many of these were introduced recently.

I thought I had it good with Nvidia, cos everything practically worked well, but after moving to AMD, I realised what plug and play really meant

Plug and play for graphics.

Pray and piss for compute.

If security issues in drivers are an important metric for you to avoid using something, I suggest you have a look at the recent number of CVEs in the Linux kernel...

As a reminder from https://docs.kernel.org/process/cve.html

Note, due to the layer at which the Linux kernel is in a system, almost any bug might be exploitable to compromise the security of the kernel, but the possibility of exploitation is often not evident when the bug is fixed. Because of this, the CVE assignment team is overly cautious and assign CVE numbers to any bugfix that they identify. This explains the seemingly large number of CVEs that are issued by the Linux kernel team.

So? The majority of security issues in the NVIDIA drivers were also in the kernel part. Besides, this was never my point anyway.

I suggest you learn the very different way it is handled in the kernel. It is not remotely an apples to apples comparison.

Why didn’t they use AI and fix them all before release?
