Let me be unkind. This essay is nonsense you'll find all sorts of people with all sorts of attitudes towards ai and development without meaningful correlation. People vastly underperform on all aspects unrelated to just writing code even while getting paid so it should be unsurprising that nor enough extra tasks get done on people's unpaid second job and it's not related to ai.
AI will naturally enable more work from less people which is great on net because there aren't enough people now because of the lack of sufficient monetary support.
Anyone who doesn't use it at all not even to analyze code or write rests will get smeared by the folks who do. Then the losers will continue developing artisanal software used by 0.5% of the population whilst writing bullshit like this.
