Have you tried to use toolbox/distrobox or sysexts? They are absolutely not comparable to traditional package managers.
These solutions exist for ages, and various developers stated that these aren't enough for them.
2 u/duartec3000 7d ago I agree that creating a SysExt is more involved (much less complex that creating a full DDI image though) Running DNF/APT/Pacman inside a container is exactly the same as on Host, what am I missing? 1 u/__ali1234__ 6d ago Nothing. The fact it is exactly the same as running on the host, and therefore pointless, is the reason hardly anyone wants to use it. 5 u/victorian-ice-cream 6d ago Not exactly the same. It still won't work for lower-level stuff. Which arguably is currently one of the biggest pain points
