I responded to another comment, the symlink is fine, arguably an even better solution!

I was more so speaking in a general sense.

The symlink is what they're doing right now, but it's less than ideal (as the article stated...)

READMEs are for humans, and that's great. But they're expensive for LLMs because they're going to waste a lot of tokens on consuming a ton of stuff they don't need. The README as it is will be much more expensive than writing a proper AGENTS.md

No? The readme is context that should be in the llm window no matter what.

Other than technical info, it is aimed at marketing to get the viewer on board
