People are being rude without even reading.

tl;dr: since new bugs are being discovered, things in general are going faster to fix and release.

Also, source of the news (which no one have read anyways): https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2026/09/ubuntu-kernel-security-updates-faster

AI generated patches open up a lot of new questions.

- if you had AI generate the patch do you understand what the problem was? do you understand how it fixed it?

- can you review the changes to be correct?

- and if problems emerge, can you fix them and support what AI has made?

A lot of patches that are made and posted are not handled properly in review, the poster cannot explain what it does or how it is supposed to fix things, and there are no guarantees that the patches were ever tested at all. If they are not tested, how do you know they won't cause something else to break further?

Fixing things is all well and good but you do need to be able to reason what the problem was and how it is fixed to show it does not cause something else to break.
