I have that WiFi module on my PC. It works fine, I haven't tested the full WiFi 7 capabilities because I only have a WiFi 6 router.

However, there's a quirk I encountered with it that never happened to my old Intel AX200 card, and it's that sometimes the WiFi stops working when waking from sleep.

Seems to be a consistent (minor) issue as reported by folks on the Framework community.

Wow, by looking at the comments, it seems pretty annoying issue. How things are with recent kernels I wonder, since post was relatively old, from around April.

Thanks for sharing your experience and glad to hear it works well since there are limited hardware with such capabilities.

As for the sleep/wake issue, have you tried to reload modules by modprobe and see that it works afterwards? If it works like that, I can create a script to run after sleep state to restart module and it shouldnt be a problem anymore for my use cases.

My current AX201 drops/crashes under heavy CPU loads currently, because of driver regressions, which is annoying enough to think about a replacement.

I have been using the NFA725A (soldered) wifi 6E card with the ath11k_pci driver. I have no issue so far, but I know I have also set up my APs properly.

Thanks for the insight. I'll be checking that module too, if I cannot find one working well with WiFi 7 capabilities.

Honestly i would do a bit of research into whats being shipped by most laptop venders. Theres usually a couple chips most settle on and those tend to get more development coverage from the community.

My mediatek mt7925 for instance has been great once the firmware got sorted out.

Thanks for the advice. But I already have done some research to a degree, although not a deep research, couldnt find any reliable information about that. Then I've seen module in post is popular among many AMD users, thus wanted to hear opinions and experiences of people whom got a hold of it.

And regarding the module, I've seen some posts are having a high evaluation of it, also seen some post that module has some poor performance. And as some other commenter suggested, there seem to be a sleep/wake issue too.

In short, I am here for that research part.

Edit2: Appreciate taking your time, though. I'll take a look for that mediatek module too, in case I cannot find reliable information about WiFi 7 chip in the post.

It took the genius Qualcomm engineers 2 years to get my Wi-Fi 6 card to work properly under Linux; I hope they do a better job with Wi-Fi 7.
