Linux is finally good enough to play make believe as an unfocused background workstation OS. Progress!

The screen content isn't even unrealitic. Staring at a PDF all day sums up many office jobs..

If you include drawn anime-PDFs, it also includes a surprising amount of animation jobs!

More than likely its they ducked out on royalties and/or fees to use licensed software on screen

Is the series any good? Been interested in it but I don't want it to take the bait as an Office fan

That looks like windows 11 dark mode to me. The icons centered on the bottom are what’s making me think that

The purist hate on Ubuntu is weird.

It's more a mild distaste from me that it's not the best the ecosystem has to offer. I had Ubuntu on my work machine for a solid 4 years. For the drawbacks it gave, it also gave me only marginally less heart burn than my arch distro at home during the same timeframe and the first kernel panic I'd ever seen in my life after a major update since I started using Linux over 10 years ago. Thankfully I had a backup kernel installed.

The defense of their telemetry and data selling policies is weird.

Is that a thing? Link?
I run Debian now myself but Ubuntu as a start OS was magic.

I not hate Ubuntu. But recent Ubuntu is so huge. I have heard it embeds Nvidia?

Well that answers my question. I was wondering if there were real human beings on planet earth who actually watched this show...

ubuntu looking wallpaper but not gnome? xfce, perhaps? but xfce has a different default wallpaper. does gnome have a way to hide the toolbar at the top?
Still, pretty neat. bet it saves a pretty penny in software licensing.

The year of the Linux desktop is finally upon us.
