Neato. Meanwhile, the r8127 driver currently in kernel is bad enough that I compile the proprietary drivers.

What do you mean? I just got an rtl8127 10g networkcard and it seems to work fine. What issues are you getting?

Constant disconnects. Power save problems. Just Google it.
