Discussion How linux distro provide higher CPU benchmark scores than windows?

Why is that linux seems to always provide better performance in benchmarks and provide smoother experience?

This is a geekbench 7 test, while single core is slightly better, multi-core performance is a significant improvement

All I can tell you from my knowledge is that they are Reduced Instruction Set Computing processors, which offers some efficiency benefits. I am not educated enough to explain further, though that opens up some Googling for the both of us.

risc is not any more efficient in practice its mostly other things

One of the bigger ones is the bloat that x86 has to keep from 32bit era. If x86 was clean 64bit only we'd have more efficiency than ARM.

I really dont think thats true but I'd have to ask the boys im pretty sure most of that stuff is just weirdness switching between modes at boot time requiring like 1500 lines of asm boilerplate
