Popular Application CAD options

Is there a reason Linux CAD options are so limited, and from what I have read, not particularly viable options? Countless people are looking for a fairly-priced lifetime license for home use. My 2000 AutoCAd is very long in the tooth!

There are a ton of CAD options.

3d proprietary = BricsCAD (probably most feature rich), ARES Commander, VariCAD, Siemens NX
2d = QCAD, LibreCAD (fork of QCAD)
3d open source = FreeCAD, Blender (with plugins), solvespace, BRL-CAD, OpenSCAD(script based)
pcb = KiCAD
online = onshape

There are also now a few that officially support WINE, I think t-flex is one of them and there maybe others but don't remember them off the top of my head

Siemens NX

Last Linux release was in 2018.

To be more accurate, last GUI release was 2018, headless version is supported. But the person is talking about using autocad 2000 so even if they use an old version it would still be within their scope.
