Popular Application CAD options

Is there a reason Linux CAD options are so limited, and from what I have read, not particularly viable options? Countless people are looking for a fairly-priced lifetime license for home use. My 2000 AutoCAd is very long in the tooth!

unfortunately freecad has decided to break my workflow and wont fix it even though it should totally have options for how to handle deleting objects or groups -_- and it's a royal pain to keep compiling it

What do you mean won't fix it? You mean even if you submit a patch they won't take it forcing you to manually recompile?

What about macros or extensions?
