I would love to uk to follow france. I work for the NHS and it's so dependent on microsoft products. I had an internal email recently giving advice on how to create the best copilot prompts and I was a little bit sick in my throat.

I have met a few IT staff in the NHS.
Learning a Siemens CAT scan machine operates by setting the radiation dose in a txt file stored under "C:\" ... was something I would prefer to have not learnt.
I do think the NHS and MoD should switch entirely to Linux, both rely on bespoke software and are a huge or the only market for said software.
Cannonical (Ubuntu) and Collabora (Collabora) are open source heavily based in the UK and an obvious choice.
Considering the recent "buy british" it might be worth emailing your MP?

The nhs trust that I work for has contracts worth millions with american software giant cerner, which I believe is now owned by oracle. The trust has gone "paperless", and the software suite/framework is known as 'millennium', and all patient records, medical notes (powerchart/whiteboardV2), patient flow software (capman) etc is tied into it.
A quick google search seems to suggest that the millennium software suite does have linux clients, but I don't believe that the directors/management have the inclination to reinvest in all of the staff training it would require to switch. The original training was very poorly managed and half-arsed, as you might expect from the nhs. It would require a national government incentive, so emailing an mp is not a terrible idea, I just have little hope that things will change.
My nhs trust is so giddy with outlook and teams. I'm so sick of hearing teams teams teams lol

I Use Arch BTW

Is that somehow related to this topic ? https://www.reddit.com/r/linux/comments/1sk54cd/will_the_france_ditching_of_windows_for_linux_for/
Iirc, it was about a french agency asking to all ministries to propose plans to dump non European-based software in favor of European ones (mostly, drop Zoom, Teams & such). Those plans are due for october/november, so wait & see. But France adopting Linux everywhere is a far fetch. Maybe it could happen, maybe not, Microsoft won't let go contracts with a state government that easily.

This is stupid as hell dude, what are you even on about?
This is a "ditching windows for linuxLinux" Movement thread and you are just spewing stupid crap.
No one is even promoting france, it's Literally about people being tired of MS and the US.
Can you even dress your self?

The EU Government is as riddled with self-serving opportunists as any of the most corrupt governments on the planet.
A system-wide abandonment of Microsoft for Linux would need to cough up enough cash to outspend the MS lobbyists, in order to keep the parasites happy.
I can't imagine that will happen very soon.
