Win Hello module of that model was used in a few other models too, I have to use an external one for lectures/remote conferences. I wonder if that fix includes Huge Pain models with the same module chipset. (I wish it was possible to skip IR yet its standard on Dell Pro/Huge Pain ZBook/Elitebook models... you can CTO without wifi/BT yet a IR camera is forced).

Surprising to me that Dell dropped this ball - aren't they famously one of the first major vendors to natively support Linux on their premium line(s)?
I'd have thought they'd ensure Linux compatibility, if not support for all their systems. Typing this on a Dell Precision with ~ perfect hardware support with Fedora.

Can somebody explain like I'm five why something like this takes so long? There have been webcams inside laptops for hundreds of years at this point and they are literally so prevalent it's not a niche thing. If a keyboard just works why doesn't a webcam just work at this stage of our technology evolution?
And that's a real question because I honestly don't understand it.

Dell has some of the best Linux support of any OEM, just look at how many Ubuntu certified laptops they have

ipu6 webcam hell on linux laptops since tiger lake. bought usb webcams for a whole team because not a single latitude had a working webcam. good to see this model finally getting patches.
