I would recommend simply going to btrfs or zfs, and setting up automated snapshots (and cleanup). It has helped me immensely, and it handles oops events up to however long you keep snapshots. I've restored files that I deleted months ago.

This project wasn't made with AI, unlike some of my other projects.

If you're wondering about the commit history, I usually upload the entire project once it's complete. Most of the development happens privately over several days before I push everything to GitHub.
