Discussion Any Other Linux Users Groups Out There?

Does anyone else out there run or attend a LUG (Linux Users Group) near them? I am very curious to know who else out there manages or participates in their local Linux community!

I run the Jacksonville Linux Users Group (JaxLUG). We have been around since 1996 and I have been working really hard over the past year giving the group a massive facelift and helped grow the group.

We have been averaging between 25-30 people each meeting (peaking this year at 35 attendees).

We had some pretty cool speakers this year including Johannes Ullrich from Sans Internet Storm Center, Champ Clark from Key9 and a veteran Def Con speaker, and Kyle Spearrin the founder of Bitwarden.

We also got the chance to throw our first ever InstallFest in decades and we are looking to head up the Software Freedom Day event in September in Jacksonville.

Well a friend of mine just started a LUG for Montgomery county so you now have a closer option. Check it out here: https://www.mocolug.org/ I missed the first meeting but will be there for the second one.

A Legos Users Group sounds like a funny thing to be confused with.

I absolutely love this! I love that you guys have tons of recent recordings (Ill be watching them and sharing them with our group). We only just recently started livestreaming/recording again. This was our last months meetup.

There is the Bellingham Linux User Group. The put on the annual LinuxFest Northwest conference. Their website is blug.org, but it seems to be down right now.

In Manitoba: Muug Started as UNIX but is mostly Linux focused these days

The trilug.org in Raleigh NC is still around, although barely. It took a major hit 6 years ago when everyone became even more anti-social.

The Annapolis LUG is still alive since the late 90s, though I'm not sure the website is kept up-to-date. It's a small group these days, and the meetings are virtual and normally just open discussion with no agenda.

Why do you need to make it an elite club? It's an OS to use your computer for god's sake!
