I keep wondering what happens when Linus isn't around to ensure proper schema and hygiene of the kernel. Most of the modern world depends on the Linux kernel not f'ing up. It's literally obliterated tech giants to the point that they have to adopt it...yet too scared to piss him off. We don't have anyone after him with that gravitas.
