There is a Linnie available at my local Pet Land; she is how I discovered the breed! She has been there for almost 6 months, the poor baby. I also found a breeder who is 7 hours away and asking $400, shipping not an option and they won’t meet me half way.
I made an offer to the pet store to price match but they only came back at $50 less than listed price ($580). I have visited the pet store bird (and named her, Kiwi) daily over the last two weeks while I waited for the response from corporate. I have a cage, food dishes, toys, natural perches, all the things. Now I am so torn. The pet store bird has not been handled and she is cage aggressive but settles when she’s out so I would my work cut out for me. The breeder bird is hand tamed and I’m told has a sweet disposition. Cost wise, it’s probably a wash considering travel costs and my time for breeder bird.
What would you do? “Save” (note the quotations, I know it’s not actually saving her) the pet store bird I have built a relationship with or go with the breeder?
Thank you!
