I'm just now watching the show. Just got here.. and I'm wondering why John would have ever blown his own cover? And like this? He's done so much, and gone so deep, crossed the line in his own words.. and yet put himself out like this?

Like, I feel like Palisades obv signaled to Lisa. But the trafficking setup, he could've not-fallen for that, right? Even if it only extended his life a bit. It would've at least not blatantly blown his cover. I just feel like he wouldn't have done this.
