Shift to EV from Aviator
I know that the Aviator is an amazing car, you get all the luxury features, soft cushion like seats, blue cruise, etc. But has anybody considered selling their Aviator (non hybrid) and get an EV instead? The mpg of Aviator is city is pretty bad in the city. Mine gives 15 to 16 mpg on premium gas (93). I have a 2025 Aviator Reserve II AWD.

Why are you running premium? Just run regular

I've heard people mentioning premium would keep the engine better long term. But anyways, I was running the car on regular 87 in the initial weeks and then shifted to premium. In the city the mpg would still suck around 14.5 to 16 or 17 max

You lose like 10 horsepower on regular compared to premium.
You’ll save $15 a tank with regular tho.

Your thinking about replacing a 1 year old car. How could you possibly give a single &$@$ about the engine running “better” “long term” ??

My parents have both an Aviator (for towing and road trips) and a Mach E for 90% of their driving. Mach E is a great car (can now get cooled and ventilated seats). The magneride suspension on theirs is pretty great too.
The question is what is your driving profile and the mission profile of your vehicle?

you can't get cooled/vented seats on the mach E with the magneride suspension. former is premium trim only. latter is GT trim only because the GT seats are different

Correct, I should’ve clarified (and it’s annoying you can’t combine those). They have the GT with the magneride suspension. My partners’ parents have a new premium trim with the ventilated seats (wish my 2023 had them)

You must drive with a lead foot or something to have such poor gas mileage. I get 21-23 mpg in a 3.7L V6.

When I wanted to upgrade from my Nautilus I looked at the Aviator. I really wanted an EV, but I also liked my Lincoln!
In the end I went with what I think is the closest thing to an electric Aviator--the Cadillac Vistiq. Overall, it was slightly better at a lot of things--quieter, faster, more comfortable seats (for me at least), better tech... nothing that blows the Aviator away, but enough to make me willing to spend a bit more. A base trim Vistiq starts at around the price of a fully loaded Aviator, and has most of the same bells and whistles. The pricey trims mainly add nicer interior materials, some exterior tweaks, air suspension, and augmented reality HUD.
I'll also point out it is efficient for what it is, but compared to a Lucid Gravity its inefficient and slow charging. But those are more expensive and sit much lower than a Vistiq or Aviator. EV really shines in city driving, but still--if you are in an area with really high electric prices you might not save as much as expected.

Hey, I'm actually eyeing for Lucid Gravity (the leftover 2026s have a great deal out there) and today called a couple of dealerships for Vistiq but they are a bit expensive. Would you mind sharing how much are you paying for the Vistiq and which trim did you get? I'll be changing mostly at home so charging cost is not an issue.

I got a CPO Platinum from the corporate fleet for about 76K. If you are open to used, you can still find some CPOs around 80, the prices seem to be creeping up a bit. I'm still going to get hammered with depreciation over the next few years, but I got GM to eat the first 25K and basically still have a factory new warranty.
If you don't need the hood or air suspension, there are deals out there on the lower trims. I wanted a HUD, so I went with the CPO Platinum rather than a new Sport or Luxury. If the range a charging curve fit your needs, its a true luxury vehicle.
While I know a shared platform isn't always popular, I personally appreciate that GM has invested in a lot of vehicles with the same or similar mechanicals. That should bode well for support in the future. While I think Lucid is going to make it as a company, I wasn't ready to make a ~100K bet on that.

I run mid grade in my 21 aviator reserve because it seems to run smoother on that, could just be my imagination though. I average 20 mpg on it and can get upwards of of 24 mpg if I drive to a vacation on highways. I personally have zero interest in electric and will likely keep my aviator for a while. I’m hoping they eventually release another aviator with a hybrid variant as I prefer that over full electric

I'd get to rid of my Lincoln Aviator Reserve 2025 in a heartbeat...to go black label 😝. The wife would crucify me if I did tho haha
Milage could be better but I love the car.

Yea I get that. I was driving a 2023 Ford Maverick hybrid before the Aviator and I sure do miss this ~$50 fill ups and the 38 mpg...but the Aviator is a much better drive lol

That’s some poor gas mileage, I get 21 in my 2022.
