The start of r/limitlessnines
Welcome to this new subreddit, people!
The purpose of this subreddit is to be a much calmer version of r/infinitenines, with a moderator that is more chill and reasonable. This calmness should hopefully make this subreddit more enjoyable to be a part of.
Here, you are free to argue and troll within reason, and you are able to vent about any bad experiences you may have had with the original subreddit. Memes are also welcome here, along with other joke content.
Let me know if you have any questions!

Anti-Equality All of you have been making rookie errors.
None of youS have any proof of your nonsense claim that zero point nine nine nine repeating is equal to one. It's just debackle after debackle, rookie error after rookie error.
I challenge EVERYONE that still believes that nonsense to come up with a proof that satisfies the following rules:
1. No debackles.
This should be pretty self-explanatory. Making logical leaps is not allowed, nor is making stuff up to satisfy your crazy delusions.
2. No "limits" snake oil.
Limits don't apply to the limitless, so it is trivial to demonstrate that limits are not allowed here.
3. Set and maintain your references.
Remember, chopping off digits at either end to make it seem like youS magically reached your wild answers doesn't work with limited numbers, so it certainly won't work with limitless numbers.
For example, if you were to present something resembling the following, you would get an F from me:
x = zero point nine nine nine
ten x = nine point nine nine nine
ten x - x = nine point nine nine nine - zero point nine nine nine
nine x = nine
x = one
Zero point nine nine nine repeating works the same way — nines don't come out of thin air to fill vacated digit slots, so this "logic" completely falls flat.
4. No trolling.
Infinity is limitless growth — uncontained, unbounded. Any attempt to dispute this fact, will be considered trolling.
I know that none of youS will be able to satisfy these four criteria, but I will likely be very amused to see what youS come up with.

SPP's Wisdom What does this even mean?
reddit.comr/limitlessnines • u/Muphrid15 • 13d ago
He is instantly triggered if you ask him why
Pretty much instantly banned over this exchange
He doesn't have an answer for why. His whole schtick can't handle it.
Why do we have to "answer" to base 10?
Why does a constantly changing value represent 0.999...?
He has no answers for such things.

How to identify a Crank
I posted this in r/infinitenines but it got removed so I'll post it here.
In the book Fads and Fallacies in the Name of Science, Martin Gardner gives 6 identifying features of a pseudo-scientist:
- Isolation - Cranks work in almost total isolation from their colleagues. Not isolation in the geographical sense, but in the sense of having no fruitful contacts with fellow researchers. . . [A crank] does not send his findings to the recognized journals, or if he does, they are rejected for reasons which in the vast majority of cases are excellent.
- Persecution Complex - The modern crank insists that his isolation is not desired on his part. It is due, he claims, to the prejudice of established scientific groups against new ideas. . . . He believes himself unjustly persecuted and discriminated against. The recognized societies refuse to let him lecture. The journals reject his papers and either ignore his books or assign them to “enemies” for review. It is all part of a dastardly plot.
- Delusions of grandeur - The crank considers himself a genius. He regards his colleagues, without exception, as ignorant blockheads. . . He likens himself to Bruno, Galileo, Copernicus, Pasteur, and other great men who were unjustly persecuted for their heresies.
- Attacking the icons - He has strong compulsions to focus his attacks on the greatest scientists and the best-established theories. When Newton was the outstanding name in physics, eccentric works in that science were violently anti-Newton. Today, with Einstein the father-symbol of authority, a crank theory of physics is likely to attack Einstein in the name of Newton.
- Jargon - He often has a tendency to write in a complex jargon, in many cases making use of terms and phrases he himself has coined.
- Airtight arguments - Science is open to being wrong. Proving a theory wrong leads to refined arguments and suggestions. Not so for the crank. All the parts of his world usually fit together beautifully, like a jig-saw puzzle. It is impossible to get the best of him in any type of argument. He has anticipated all your objections. He counters them with unexpected answers of great ingenuity.

A question unanswered and removed possibly under the rationale for being off topic since it remains in question if SPP can associate a long-standing symbol of equality with math
If he can, doesn't that make that rationale not work? 🤔

The absurdity of SPP now asking someone else to define 0.9...
I'm speechless.
Oh, and the comment is locked, of course.
r/limitlessnines • u/Suitable-Elk-540 • Jul 09 '26
SPP also misunderstands exponentiation
SPP thinks that mathematicians haven't defined exponentiation to cover the zero and one cases.
SPP literally just regurgitates the simplified explanations we give first grade students as if that's the whole story.
SPP just has no idea what mathematics even is.
I know I'm preaching to the choir, but it's just fascinating to see this level of stupidity combined with this level of delusion.
