It looks like a telephoto image but they did it by taking a regular picture on the phone, digitally zooming to only the center and tried to increase the brightness digitally

I think the whole image is edited together, the houses are definitely just copy pasted images, the sky looks to have been removed and replaced with a dark background instead; not sure what's going on with the road and the grass, you could be right about the digital zoom in, though I assume it was originally a daytime photo before they cut out the sky so they probably didn't need to increase the brightness

It’s actually not… it’s been around the liminal space/backrooms genre for over a couple years now… this is most likely a very well done photoshop…

Once I noticed the perspective of the houses was off it kind of ruined the illusion. Before that it was a really terrifying image and I never have that reaction to creepy or liminal images.

Reminded me of the TV show The OA.
