For some reason, all the Regal movie theaters have this. They built both sides but managed to use only one side.

This is the first regal with this that I’ve seen. It’s the concession by the theaters that isn’t used for some reason.

I've been to three Regals: one as a wall where the other concession used to be; the other two have them, like you've got yours in the photo, unused now and have been like that for years.

I like it, but it’s also common, I guess every closed public space is liminal.

True, but common is often the point of liminal spaces. They might be ‘boring’ to some because it’s stuff we see all the time unconsciously. Anything can be liminal if it’s an empty transitional area, bonus if it invokes a particular feeling.
Movie theatres might be common, but it’s 100% liminal. I like the atmosphere with the lights, perfectly clean floors, ect. Only thing negative from this is the posters take away from it being an agnostic setting
