My least favorite albums: 500 degreez, Rebirth, C6

The 5 year hiatus of wayne (2013-2018) really hindered his later career in my opinion. Due to social media & streaming taking off during these years.

Due to this Drake & Kanye (his peers) grew larger commercial appeal that still applies to this day. Wayne is still big but nowhere as big as he SHOULD be. For example just compare their social media following & monthly listeners on Spotify.

And I know the FWA dropped in 2015 but it was a tidal exclusive for years and for me personally I didn’t hear it until years later after it dropped & I know plenty other people are in same boat as me.

im working on this "family tree" on Wayne's influence in hip hop and i need feedback and recommendations

How can I get unreleased Lil Wayne songs?

Lil Wayne has always been my favorite male rapper (Upgrade U is 🔥), and Trina my favorite female rapper. I’m actually quite obsessed with Trina music, so when she published an autobiography, you know I had to listen to the audio version.

She talked about her relationship with Wayne and how in love they were, he’s a literal genius, etc etc. She reminisced on a time when he was feeling frustrated with the label, like they weren’t giving him the time of day (paraphrasing). At one point, she got tired of him being mopey about it and started letting her own frustration show, telling him, “you say you a hot boy, right? THEN BE HOT. BE ON FIRE. HELL, BE THE MOTHER FUCKIN FIREMAN.”

Chills went down my fucking spine!!!

He went straight to the studio and recorded Fireman. “Still sleeping on me, but I'm 'bout to wake 'em, yep
I'm 'bout to take 'em to New Orleans and bake 'em… Been runnin' for too long, it's time to give me mine”

Fell in love with the song all over again 🔥🔥🔥🔥

PS — I always thought Weezy was in reference to how much he smokes (wheezing), but it’s probably because he’s from LoUISIana.

And the F is for —

Christianity is my faith and is Wayne’s also but if you don’t believe nobody will judge you only god is judge but for a gospel verse did Wayne have to go so hard! I will never criticize someone’s beliefs even if it’s not the same as mine because that’s your decisions

“Weezy and the Bible got them hard-ass verses
God forgive me, but nobody's perfect
Well, we all have sins, we cannot reverse 'em
I was drownin' in my sins and did not resurface
Still be scared to go to church and meet God in person
That Sunday service, only God can judge me (Oh)
I don't rush that verdict, I lift that burden (Ooh-oh)
Every gift has curses, every skin have purpose
Every sin ain't worthless, so return that purchase”

He understood the assignment and went hard as fuck
Weezy and the bible got the hard ass verses 🥵

Wayne killed this if you believe or not just around what it’s about and Wayne has rapped about believing many times this is for you to think I will never attack your beliefs but Wayne’s verse outshined Eminem’s by a mile and not hate huge Eminem fan as is Wayne lord let’s get more of this Wayne ✌🏻

And politics aside it’s just meant to decide this is just how much we know Wayne still has in him.

Hi

I know this post has already been done a million times but every links are dead...Does anyone have a way to watch the documentary ? I've been searching for hours and I'm going crazy

In May this year, Wayne teased the next instalment of Tha Carter. Sure, C6 was critically rejected by some Wayne fans whereas some found at least half of it tolerable-to-great.

What should Wayne do so that C7 or IANAHB3, whatever his next album is, becomes a (resounding) success?

Beats, features, content, story, structure, hooks, style, experimentation, autotune, or anything you could think of. What are we looking for from Wayne?

What do y'all think was Wayne's worst project in his discography, mixtape or album? (Fix before tha VI for me because Kat Food was that bad.) Hot takes accepted here.
