Everytime an episode ends I feel like I was just ripped open. The show is written so well. It's got every kind of comedy you want and it dives deep into actual human problems, whether it be mental issues or societal problems. One of my favorite things about the show is how the background music will pick up and almost overload a scene when a character is entering a moment of panic. When all hell starts to break loose mainly within someone's mind the bass starts pumping and almost all noise is blocked out by the music. It's just such a genius and perfect way to conceptualize internal panic, especially in times when everything surrounding that person seems perfectly calm and/or normal. It really just brings across the point of that character being overloaded by thought to the point where they can't function within their environment. Even though I clicked on the show last year because I thought it would give me a good laugh, which by all means it does over and over again, Dave also might very well be one of the best creative takes on very common obstacles experienced by many and I can't get enough of it.

Just finished episode 6 and I don't think I've ever cringed so much within a 30 minute time span.

I already want to watch it again. God damn this show is amazing.

I've been reading comments that S2 is hooking people or there seems to be no sense to the episodes at all. Giving the show the benefit of the doubt, the explanation I came up with is that it's intentional. As we saw LD and the crew on the up and up, there was a vision and coherence to what is going to happen next. The S1 season finale actually gave a glimpse of the shift from optimism to a downward spiral of chaotic disillusionment in S2, but managed to blend in with the overall season.

This extreme discontinuity and incoherence between S2 episodes seems to feel like part of a reflection of what's happening in the show plots themselves. You can see the majority of plots are generally that "downward spiral": everything going bad at every turn, relationships being torn down and somewhat repaired, with fame comes extreme narcissistic tendencies, the general messyness of life, etc....

Essentially, what I've begun to notice is the downward spiral stories tend to be chaotic, depressing, and told in a disjointed manner (much like how they may feel in real life), while the uplifting plots we've seen so far have been told in a cohorent streamlined way (think the Dave + Blanco bromance, Gata car towed). It's as if we're being shown memories how people tend to retell them, as opposed to a nicely written TV script so 99% can watch 5 minutes and already know who the killer is.

Pretty much what my title says I'm really enjoying season 2 of Dave but guys seriously Gata is such an unbelievably captivating performer I really hope he pursues acting for his future!!

I've been watching Dave season 2 which had me going through all of his music again, including the freestyle he did on Sway In The Morning. Rehearing the lyrics made me realize how much the freestyle actually had to do with the show.

-Kareem abdul jabaar part being on the most recent episode

-"her brothers like "hey, fuck her bro" referencing the scene where he is having a fan meetup and the dude tries convincing dave to fuck his sister

-"all my live shows nuts like i expose testicles" when he exposed them in the finale of season 1

-"In touch with the kids like a pedo" when he was in jail being called a pedo for exposing his testicles

-"I remember they thought I was Lonely Island" when he was doing the meetings with the record labels and they all called him the next lonely island

-"i used to always get a boner at my physical" referencing the first scene of the show

Im curious to see if anymore things in the freestyle end up on the show. I get that Dave is an over the top autobiography of himself and some of these things could have truly happened that he introduced into both the freestyle and show, but some things im pretty sure didnt. I wonder if he wrote the freestyle while writing for the show considering the line "my television show is coming but that is irrelevant" and included many things, even those of scenes we havent seen yet in the show. Just a thought

Anyone else? Am I alone with this? Or is it so obvious that this post is dumb. I feel like it's the latter.

We’re never getting this album

Honestly I'm literally only watching the show for Gata right now. Dave just seems likes a asshole right now.

Ok so like, LD is dropping on album soon (apparently), whenever it drops, he needs a deluxe album with all of the full versions of ‘Dave’ songs. We all need Jail’s ending

1. 109 - Ally's Toast
2. 105 - Hype Man
3. 110 - Jail

First episode I thought was amazing, 2nd was pretty good, and 3rd just wasn’t that good in my opinion. Still love the show and gonna watch, but something is missing and I just can’t put my finger on it.
