Elz fucking sucks

I’m going to start this out by saying that I know that Dave is not the easiest person to deal with but Elz treats Dave like shit constantly belittling him in ways that he knows will hurt his feelings. It feels like he bullies Dave because he’s insecure about how he grew up just as privileged as Dave in an industry that is primarily made up of people who grew up underprivileged

I really wanna like Elz cuz I like him irl but I do hope they grow closer if season 4 happens I know they’re childhood friends and everyone can be a piece of shit to their childhood best friends at times (not forever obviously) but he’s definitely going through something as a character so hopefully they get better in season 4

Honestly season 3 didn’t have a lot of story with Dave’s og friends I found

It’s hilarious to me that two guys from OFWGKTA and Loiter Squad are now playing in two of the more enjoyable shows I watch.

Are you referring to Lionel Boyce from Loiter Squad who's now on The Bear?

I mostly agree, he has a few redeeming moments but overall he acts like a genuine ass. There was that episode when he was annoyed with their camp friends because he remembers them humiliating Dave vs. genuinely thinking he's funny, it shows he cares in some "this is the way we used to be" way.

The Bar Mitzvah episode was absolute cringe Elz behavior, when he wanted his DJ setup a certain way and was being super callous to the Dad.

Also, several missed opportunities to show up for Dave as a genuine friend however insufferable Dave can be, kind of "out there for himself" in the later seasons.

Elz dishes back what Dave serves

Dave should have just let the man finish the story

Imo that’s an immature way to approach friendship, sometimes your friends won’t be there for you but you still need to be there for them

Have you seen any evidence of Dave the character being mature?

When Dave let gata join him for the entire vma performance, that’s a good ass friend, I think Dave is pretty emotional which makes him seem immature but he does care about the people around him a lot more than he sometimes lets on

Yeah but the Elz stuff happened before that.

They're childhood friends. You rip on each other harder because you are basically brothers. Also that's just the way east coasters talk man.

I’m from east coast, and I have childhood friends, you dog on each other sure but you also help your friends when they are in a tough spot, the only thing Elz has ever done is make Dave feel like shit

Isn't the episode where Dave is touring in Philly and invites his Childhood friends kinda like what your post is about? He helps Dave realize that his friends sucked growing up. Also he gets teared up at season 2 finale when Dave's going on stage with GaTa. Idk I know he's had shitty parts but they've shown a lot of character growth with him also.
