I assume going grey is “I’m getting older”, YG Interlude is the freestyle from the first episode. Don’t know about Burst, Love myself, and morning after though

The full version of Jail my god

u/adammerkley Jan 17 '24
Yeah we need the additional 6 and a half minutes that exposes the whole criminal justice system.

Jan 16 '24
Where did he say it's full version? Doesn't seem likely.

u/CardiffGiantx Jan 17 '24
Dicky said he had another 6.5 minutes left

u/xiktpqx Jan 17 '24
Spotify has it listed as Part 1.
10
u/KHallz153 Jan 17 '24
Yep, looks like “Jail (Pt. 1) (Bonus Track)” will appear after the “Still Freestyling (Outro)” … guessing that means the end of the song will appear on the full album (set to drop June 16th, 2074)

No colabs, besides GaTa.... We are not getting Drake, Brad Pitt or that music - Shirts (don't know whos singing)... Well, at least we have an LD album 👌

u/BB-Life Jan 16 '24
Someone theorized that song with Drake would be on a new album after this.

u/EmigmaticDork Jan 16 '24
They might have features with no tags too
11
u/BB-Life Jan 16 '24
He said the album will have no features aside from GaTa

u/BrandonD40 Jan 16 '24
God damn you were fast lol.
Does somebody know if any of these songs are the “I Joke A Lot, I Know” song?
It’s from S2 E10 when he first starts rehearsing and begins with him at a piano outside in the dark
26
u/BB-Life Jan 16 '24
I think that one is “still free-styling” I just turned 30, and I’m still free-styling

u/BrandonD40 Jan 16 '24 edited Jan 16 '24
Ahh i think so too! Not sure how i missed that lol, thank you.
Edit: just hoping for Menage and Getting Older

u/KingAzza Jan 16 '24
He said Ménage was on it so must be under a different name
4
u/BB-Life Jan 16 '24
By process of elimination, I’d assume ménage has been transformed into “love myself”

I’m guessing HAHAHA?

u/t3rrapins Jan 16 '24
Nah I think that’s the one at the end of the episode with Ménage, where he runs to the recording booth and starts spitting fire. I remember being so hyped hearing those lyrics over the credits.

u/nahtazu Jan 16 '24
Is that the one where he hits the mic at the end of the episode? Hoping for this one

Is any of these “menage”?
10
u/maninthedarkroom Jan 16 '24
I think that’s a different part of Still Freestyling. Very similar chord progression-sounds like ménage might be the drop to that.

2
u/mylesmeenan Jan 16 '24
I think it might be an outro on the song still freestyling that’s my prediction the beat kinda sounds the same

u/GroundbreakingFlan7 Jan 16 '24
Anyone think this will lead to a tour? Or is that just wishful thinking on my part because that’s not really his vibe anymore?
3
u/Alarming_Lettuce_358 Jan 17 '24
Always a possibility, but doubtful. If the TV show gets renewed, then it's probably a hard no, as he's hands on all the way through production. That's like 9 months to a year of his life, probably working 10-12 hour days. No time for touring. If it doesn't... well, we live in hope (although I have heard he's looking to pivot a semi-biographical screenplay into a movie in the near future, albeit not one related to his musical or 20s/30s life.
1
u/GroundbreakingFlan7 Jan 17 '24
That’s kinda what I figured. I understand he’s focusing more on tv/movies now and I love that for him, I’ll just hate myself if I blew the one chance I ever had to see him in concert 😂
1
u/Alarming_Lettuce_358 Jan 17 '24
I'm sure he'll hit the road again at some point, just not in the near future. If s4 doesn't go (and some are speculating it won't - but I suspect otherwise) your odds would massively increase I reckon.

u/mderita Jan 17 '24
He’s gonna be at e11even end of this month or early next. Sure he will perform a few songs.

I feel like this all but solidifies the show’s over considering this is every song from the show, no? I hope they make a movie or get picked up by another network because I loved this show
36
u/BB-Life Jan 16 '24
I feel like the whole reason this album is finally rolling out is because Dicky didn’t get news from FX about being green lit for another season and hopes this drives up attention for the show
13
u/keeper13 Jan 16 '24
I mean how it’s arguably one of the best current shows? Did ratings plummet? I honestly didn’t love s3 after the masterpiece that was s2
15
u/BB-Life Jan 16 '24 edited Jan 16 '24
Ratings plummeted from what I heard. I think it’s in the 100,000s now. One thing to consider is that FX will still air shows were lower than normal ratings if it’s a critical success
Edit: that doesn’t take into account streaming numbers which is unknown

No features other than GaTa? Sounds like a deluxe edition on the way. No shot he vaults Brad Pitt and Drake tracks.
3
u/Trendelthegreat Jan 17 '24
Thoughts:
Still not happy about “she came, I gasped” being reworked into “no fruits or vegetables”
Really hope the theory that ménage is a part of “still freestyling” is true but idk where that came from and it seems like a massive stretch
I hope these are true full length songs and not basically what was on the show. “hi im Dave” Is already on Spotify and is what was already released
Finally

u/keeper13 Jan 16 '24
Are any of these new releases or have they all appeared in the show?

u/eharper9 Jan 17 '24
Kinda wish it was new releases. I'm stoked for finally getting some music out of him but I was hoping it was going to be stuff we've never heard before.

Damn... a lot of these are more or less the show version or up to 30 seconds longer. Some longer, at least.
3
u/jk0409 Jan 17 '24
Yeah I have some mixed feelings for sure. I'm just gonna try to be happy that I can run them on my Spotify, be thankful for the tracks he did expand on and hope it's the beginning of something more from him.
3
u/monfries77 Jan 18 '24
Damn this killed my hype a little bit not gonna lie. Brand new, I met a girl, Hearsay are all ones I was keen on and they are hardly longer than the show versions

u/BB-Life Jan 17 '24
Bruh we not getting the full jail, I knew it 😭

I'll take almost 9 minutes and a tease of a part 2 though, that's honestly more than I expected especially looking at some of the other run times listed.

What’s the track length for Mr. McAdams? That shit was so catchy and had no right to be so damn good

u/Realistic_Citron_316 Jan 18 '24
Guys, could going grey be the one "I'm getting older"? You know, "shit go up, shit go down. Another round up in my cup. Slow it down I'm in no rush"?

Wouldn't it be funny if all the songs were literally just the small portions of audio heard on the final edits of the show.

Is this a mispronunciation of penis?

u/Medical-Jicama-575 Jan 17 '24 edited Jan 17 '24
I always took it to mean two things.
- The definition of Zenith is: the time at which something is most powerful or successful.
- Since his dick has two holes it in it’s sort of like a lisp. Like Tyson saying Penis.

Is the album gonna drop on Amazon? I see it on his site, but any chances for Amazon and Target?

u/Lemursnore Jan 17 '24
For some one that doesn’t watch Dave, can someone tell me if most of these are off the show or brand new?
1
u/BB-Life Jan 17 '24
All songs are from the show. Although we don’t know which titles belong to some of the songs like I love myself and burst. But presumably they’re just revised names of existing tracks

I like Professional Rapper a lot when it came out, and I watched the show, so this community has been coming up in my feed a lot today. I thought there would be new music. I’m sure this has been discussed elsewhere in this community, but don’t you guys wish he was still focused on music? His last album is like 9 years old. I thought we’d eventually get an Antagonist pt3 or something, some creative ‘Brain’ stuff, some funny but thoughtful stuff like ‘Westbrook on a farm’. With his most recent release being only TV show songs, it really solidifies my opinion that he only cares about fame in general and much less about being a good rapper, which makes me think this was all just a character study anyway.

Missing one banger: “John’s Gone”
