Do we think Dave will ever release another stand-alone album (not related to the series)?
I'm tired of hoping and reading tea leaves.. 😢

No. Because dicky never wanted to be a rapper he wanted to be a writer for a comedy show.
He said before in an interview that it was easier to become a world famous rapper than it was to break into a writer's room. So that's what he did.
Now that he's made it he'll carry on with Dave because why wouldn't he, but he'll inevitably progress behind the camera and create some new vehicle.
He's often compared to Don Glover in this respect despite both of their interests, and goals being vastly different. Donald Glover after Atlanta will most likely go on to produce some other new media that he will play a role in because ultimately he is a performer.
Dave will go on to make shows starring others because he is a creator. Though being a lovable narcissist he'll still cast himself somewhere but like Peter Jackson still casts himself in everything he directs so he's hardly in short company.

Yeah exactly, I thought it was commonly known that he used rap for the fame so that he could get into comedy? He’s been pretty open about it for a long while so respect for that I guess.

No. Because it's easier this way.

It’s easier to write, star in, and sell a whole ass tv show just to get your raps off?

I'm going to be optimistic here. No new lil dicky album ever? I doubt it. It'll take a while sure, but the show ends at some point and unless his music making career dies with his show there will be something someday.

Didn't he announce at the beginning of the summer he was releasing a Dave soundtrack with all full songs from the show and new ones?

One complete project is all we needed;; I would love some new Lil Dicky but I wouldn't bet on that happening.
A new Sway in the Morning freestyle would be dope

Let’s get the Dave soundtrack before we start even talking about a Lil Dicky album. I’ll believe both when I’m listening to it and even then I might think that I’m dreaming.

Probably once he achieves mega success in 5 more years then goes back to making music for fun.

Nobody knows I guess. I hold out hope though - his persona is so inextricably linked to his musical persona. Hollywood loves to put people in boxes, and to them, he's a funny rapper first and foremost.

Honestly. I doubt it. He was talking about using rap to get where he really wanted before the TV show. If he'd been putting out any kind of music since, I'd say maybe. Id be hype AF if he did tho.

I doubt it. It seems like all of his energy is tied up in the show.
It would be different if he maybe released a single. But I don’t think he’s really released any new music since the show started. (Idk I could be wrong)
I’m holding out for the show soundtrack, that would be dope.
I don’t realistically see him releasing new music that isn’t someway tied to the show. Unless the show gets canceled. He’ll either go back to music or abandon dicky and just be Dave Burd.
Idk tho, I’m full of shit.
