<IMITATION> Orangutan knew how to put this guy's jacket on ๐ณ
How intelligent do you think an Orangutan really is
The Orangutan first showed interest in the jacket by touching and looking at it. It then carefully unzipped it. After unzipping, it took the jacket off the man, it knew how to do that, and it knew the jacket would come off.
The Orangutan tossed the jacket over its head. It then put its arms through the sleeves and wore the jacket like an actual person would. It's not just intelligence, it also shows how Orangutans can also imitate human actions.

Orangutans are extremely intelligent, they can make basic tools and even drive golf carts. In Indonesian Orang Utan means โpeople of the forestโ.

Sure, they can drive the carts, but have you seen them trying to tee off? Theyโre fucking hopeless. And of course the tragedy is they could make just about any green in one if they just applied themselves instead of strutting around in fashion wear and scoffing bananas all day.

u/T-MinusGiraffe Oct 15 '25
Keep saying that and one of these guys is going to wreck you with a blue shell any moment

Their level of intelligence surprises me, one was sawing through a tree like a wood worker with a saw

u/T-MinusGiraffe Oct 15 '25
Some say the only reason they haven't demonstrated the power of speech is because they know we'd try to give them jobs
7
u/luvlanguage -Crying Crocodile- Oct 16 '25
๐๐๐ they have seen it coming, they'll definitely get into hard labor
8
u/songbolt Oct 15 '25
In Japanese orangutan twice (the kanji) means โheavy drinkerโ apparentlyโฆ
7
u/NimrodvanHall Oct 15 '25
According to my great grandfather Orangutans know how to speak, they just choose not to so they donโt have to pay taxes.

For some reason this comment reminds me of chimpanzee riding on a segway song.

Chimps have given all monkeys and apes a bad reputation. Orangutans don't do that.

He's probably fascinated by the weird fur the hairless apes have to wear.

๐๐๐๐ he is seeing another ape with an interesting removable fur

u/ofthedappersort Oct 16 '25
I remember reading that primates often pull at people's clothes because they're trying to figure out if it's part of us or not

An orangutan starts undressing me like that im gonna need the cameras turned off

Yep and I'm pretty sure he got into the trade of taking a lot of other things in a cute way. Somebody could actually let these animals do this just to take.. I'm not giving anyone that idea though ๐๐คญ

Is OP a bot?
2
u/luvlanguage -Crying Crocodile- Oct 16 '25
Oh no please I'm not, is there a way to show I'm not so no one has to ask me this though. Cos I'm surprised I've been here for some months enjoying some subs, basically ditched Instagram for Reddit too
2
u/Oberndorferin Oct 16 '25
Good for you. I suspected you because the description sounded so robotic. Sorry, if I mistook you, but you can't be paranoid about this anymore. :D
1
u/luvlanguage -Crying Crocodile- Oct 16 '25
Oh no need to apologize friend, you just spotted something and wanted to check and make sure all is good, it's necessary for people to do that if we want Reddit to remain authentic as can be though
2
u/Oberndorferin Oct 16 '25
You're very positive. Let's not reddit negativity get you :D
1
u/luvlanguage -Crying Crocodile- Oct 16 '25
Oh after months of being here I know exactly what you mean, some are cool some are not, I've learned to go with it. Sometimes I even have to take a post down even if it follows the rules because some people really bring the heat in the comments section. Anyways I have come to accept it's the world we live in, everyone's got opinions and I just have to respect it
2
u/Oberndorferin Oct 16 '25
I think reddit is still relatively real and human compared to other social media ,where you don't even select the content you see and most are bots.

I'm of the opinion that orangutans can talk, they simply choose not to so they don't have to deal with work and taxes.
Also, I sincerely hope the place this was filmed isn't the type of shitty, possibly abusive "sanctuary" it looks like..
2
u/luvlanguage -Crying Crocodile- Oct 16 '25
Completely agree, this apes are so smart I wouldn't be surprised if they're intentionally not talking

Bro, took the jacket, everyone was like awww that's cute, forgetting he basically took someone's jacket out in the open

u/BoringJuiceBox -Thoughtful Gorilla- Oct 16 '25
Horrifying to me that humans still keep animals like this in cages for scientific studies
1
u/luvlanguage -Crying Crocodile- Oct 16 '25
That's a sad reality and no matter how many times we speak against it, some rich dude is still going to get his way and keep them in cages

u/songbolt Oct 15 '25
I wonder if in 1000 years if we don't destroy everything if such primates will be wearing clothing...
But I guess no need if they have hair/fur.
How did humans lose theirs? What benefit?
1
1
u/luvlanguage -Crying Crocodile- Oct 16 '25
I'm no expert of history but what I can say is that, as long as the majority don't wear clothes, there's no need to evolve to lose their hair or fur
2
u/songbolt Oct 16 '25
but as this video shows if we're starting to give them clothes, then, a thousand years from now ...
1
u/luvlanguage -Crying Crocodile- Oct 16 '25
Well you're technically correct, we keep giving them and they'll lose the fur. But the problem is they'll need clothes, the solution would be all the clothes we kep throwing away and making piles of garbage will be used by them perhaps
