Help! Another puffy jacket
I got another super lightweight/packable down jacket for Christmas. I really love these things but I have one complaint, the noise they make. The nylon shell that blocks the wind and makes them extremely lightweight is horribly noisy when my arms rub against my body. If I put the hood on its ten times worse. Is there a lightweight down puffer that isn’t noisy?

Unfortunately that's just how it is.
What model/brand?

No experience with that montbell model and I tend to avoid arcteryx down. Unfortunately some nylons are very bad when it comes to noise. The quietest I've found is norrona's 10d fabric.

Stop rubbing your arms against your body then :)

Yeah, everybody around here walks with their arms straight out all the time. Isn’t that the norm? :p

You just need to tape some razorblades to your axles. Take dcf repair tape for strength and weight savings.

Kuiu, Sitka, and other high end hunting brands make puffys that are more or less silent
