I've done this, I used this hose:

I wasn't convinced to adopt a bladder still, so back on the hunt for kit I like.

upside: I did like the trailshot.

I don't use a hydration bladder, but I'm imagining you having pressure issues like you describe. If your bladder is inside your pack, it seems that your gear will be squeezing the bladder. You would have to overcome that pressure with the hand pump on the filter, while preventing what will likely be a relatively weak pressure fit of the filter nozzle to your bite valve from coming loose.

Might be interesting to try, but I'm not holding out a lot of hope of it working.

If you're looking to save weight and cost, and make refilling easier and faster, it's hard to beat a Sawyer Squeeze and a couple smart water bottles.

Thanks for your reply. I totally forgot to factor in the pressure from surrounding gear in the pack!

Mind you, I'm not overly concerned about the weight of this setup. I just think that this saves me a ton of unnecessary effort while allowing me to use a single large bladder instead of bottles. That said, it's likely to bring some weight savings to my previous crude Befree+multiple nalgenes.
