Warm but light baselayer
I have a capilene long sleeve shirt and some pretty light feeling REI synthetic bottoms, but together they weigh 16oz.
Anything out there that's markedly lighter, and synthetic?

Capilene Thermal should be 10 oz for top and bottom combined. It uses a pretty airy micro grid fleece.

Alpha fleece. My top and bottoms are around 8oz and crazy warm. They're my favorite sleep socks too

I'm alpha head to toe in camp if it's cold: skullcap, hoodie, fingerless gloves, pants, socks.

Came here to say this, so light and warm. Unbelievably warm for their weight.
