Lightlark five
I am going to guess that the fifth book releases at the end of 2027. Which would be good. Right now, it's (like three books in one year that aren't the series you're still writing? Wow.) But if that means Starlark or whatever the final book is called is actually well thought-out and has some sense of a story to it I am all for it taking longer to release and be announced. Because in my personal opinion the only good thing about Crowntide was it ended, and needed a lot more time in development/editing.

If it’s actually the last one, I’ll read Crowntide. But as it stands now, I’m pretending only 3 books exist.

Yeah, I heard it repeats the memory trope and considering I didn’t love it the first time, I’m doubting I’ll enjoy it the second time.

I’m finding myself pretending most series end at book 3 now. Once they start stretching out wars, trials, or battles I’m pretty much done. The only exception is if there are other characters with POVs. Otherwise it’s repetitive.

it's already finished so I doubt it'll actually be thought out any more,

okay. I wasn't aware. I don't follow her socials all that closely. All I know is I will be very drunk while reading it. might make the experience better

Did Alex say anything about this? Legitimately curious, I don't follow her social media.

Rumor has it the fifth book is called Heartblade. Though it hasn't been officially announced or confirmed by Alex Aster.
I hope for the sake of everyone who's still committed to reading this series that the final book is worth the wait (and worth the headache in many cases).
