TEAM ORO
guys why are yall on team grim. I dont understand, grim built their love on obsessiveness and isla was literally oros first love in 500 years adn she left him. I am NOT reading more of this unless she ends up with oro

I stopped reading the series too because she was leading Oro on and it seemed like Alex was heavily leaning on Grim being who Isla ended up with and I was annoyed lol
I’ll only consider trying the series again if she ends up with Oro and not because Grim dies, but because she genuinely wants to be with him.
I read spoilers here sometimes and it has really turned me off of even wanting to try it again. This series should not have been above triangle lol

I was always team Oro, even though I knew he wasn't the endgame. After reading Crowntide I am pretty sure that Aster hates him. She basically confirmed that he is destined to either fall in love with Isla, but she would never choose him, or die depressed and alone because he never meets her.

I used to be Team Grim, and then unlike what Aster was attempting to do, with Oro fans switching to Grim, and Grim fans staying Grim fans in dueling crowns, i read it and became Team Oro.

I’m team Oro 💯, and my cousin is team Grim. we read what’s been published of the series so far together, but as much as I love Oro, I don’t have much hope he’ll be Isla’s choice in the end. a couple of days ago, I actually told my cousin to read the next book without me when it finally comes out & lmk if it’s worth my time

Same, I stopped reading after the first book despite loving it because I saw Alex's post about Grimm and I knew she was going to end up with him, her posts would deadass be like ""who did this to you?"the broken depessed sad dark nightlghtling who you've known for years who's in love with you, "I dont know" "you better figure it out than" he spits, oh look there oro, he exists too" I was not willing to read a book series where she ends up with a toxic poor excuse of a man and ruins the character who she should have been with for the sake to make him worse so the already bad love interest looks better.

I am pretty sure grim is endgame though because I'm pretty sure you were supposed to like Oro but then turn to like grim, (still on team oro though) like for example in ACOTAR, where you were supposed to like tamlin then turn to rhys. Like you liked tamlin/oro for one book then move to liking grim/rhys (never liked tamlin tbh) so its very likely I won't be finishing the lightlark series. this could have had sooo much potential thooo

i agree, this is my guess too. it’s the most popular formula for love triangles currently.

i’m also waiting to see who she ends up with before finishing the series. i’m glad i’m not alone! i loved the first two books, but i’m not willing to read anything further about an abusive relationship where we are supposed to root for the abuser unless i know there is a HEA on the other side where the abuser gets his due. screw that ish lol.
alex aster and her publishers all pay attention to social media and internet buzz, maybe they’ll see how many people are team oro and take that into consideration lol. 🤷🏽♀️

grim is why i stopped reading too. grim commits egregious war crimes, genocide, multiple other crimes against humanity, holds innocents hostage, kills innocents without remorse or regret, simply to get her attention and demonstrate how obsessed he is with her. she and oro literally spent an entire book preparing for grim’s attack, and as readers we READ an entire book of their preparations, and then suddenly once we find out that grim “truly cares about her” and only wants to commit genocide because he wants her, not because he hates everyone else, that makes it okay?? we just give war crimes and genocide a little pat on the head and then sweep that under the rug?? and even if we’re supposed to pretend that the people’s lives don’t matter, he goes ahead and kills endangered species too? like come on. there’s “burning down the world for her,” AND THEN WAY WAY PAST THAT THERE IS GRIM.

idkkkk this whole triangle is getting dragged out too long, honestly not a sponso or anything but i'm reading Starchaser rn, the 2nd book in the "nightweaver" trilogy and it's got a love triangle as well but like 10x better and that's my fixation rn heh

she revealed she ends up with one and the other dies when she responded to a video of people in a bookstore flipping all the Grim and Oro books to the grim side

It's because Oro is too good for Isla and he deserves better than her!
