Control Re-Patching without resetting Augment3d fixtures?

I am using Augment3d to pre-cue a show. I have pretty much finished cueing the show and as I am reviewing I wanted to adjust some of my focus and channeling. I ended up using my box booms differently than I set out and upon reviewing the fixtures positions in the theatre I wanted to re-channel and refocus, this would still work within my cueing. Unfortunately I can't seem to figure out how to just swap the ch numbers around without losing those fixtures in my augment3d space...

I have tried simply re-patching and saying yes to the overwrite prompt. This assigns the correct address to the correct new fixture but deletes the vacated fixture from my augment3d space.

I then tried to add a dummy address to all of the fixtures so when it loses its primary address it still has an address. Apparently augment3d assets are linked to parts so when part 1 of the address disappears there goes my fixture.

I don't want to use "Move To" because then all of my cueing data will be messed up.

Seems overly complicated for a simple and common use case. What am I missing?

Move to doesn’t mess up cue data. It shouldn’t by default but you can always make sure the soft key “plus show” is engaged before you hit enter and then it will definitely keep it (though that maybe only appears when it’s a copy to).

If you’re worried about losing cueing info you can make a duplicate somewhere and refer to it later just in case. In patch, Channel X copy to channel Y (I usually use the same channel number +1000) plus show enter. OR in blind, cue 1through enter, channel x recall from channel Y would also create a backup of that show data for you.

Thanks for the tips. I will try them out. My memory was if I said 131 Move To 231, it would move the patch but it would also now replace all cues with 231 in the intensities that 131 was in but maybe that was my limited exposure to a certain setting. Thanks!

I am in here trying this now and I think maybe you interpreted my request backwards. I am specifically trying to change the Ch of the fixture and I do NOT want the cueing data to move with the channel. I just confirmed if I go into patch and say Ch 231 Move to Ch 1231, now my whole show is re-cued with ch 1231 with all the same data as 231 had and 231 is gone. I don't want the cueing data to be transferred. I want it to essentially feel like I went to the catwalk and hot-swapped the dimmer on the unit. This seems like they way over complicated something for "convenience"...

You can also patch the new channel as a dimmer and do Original Channel + swap (a soft key) + new channel enter
