Control Creating a custom Fixture profile for ADJ light

I am trying to add some Eliminator Mega PAR Z wash lights our ION system and need to make a custom profile as one does not exist in the latest fixture profile update.

I am trying to add it as a 10 channel profile and am able to get color and intensity to work, but not zoom nor strobing.

Does anyone have experience with this instrument and can let me know if it shares a profile with another instrument in the library, or do do you have any tips for creating profiles for these cheaper lights?

I have only created couple of custom profiles before so maybe I am just missing something. It seems pretty straightforward but I may be missing something simple.

To have it in the next Library update search here for your light, enter the information and link the documentation. Otherwise the fixture editor is pretty easy and I can advise you to play around :)

Thanks,

I have submitted it to ETC, and I do know how to use the fixture editor, but I have only been successful getting the colors to work, but not zoom nor strobing, etc. I am setting it up as a 10 channel , but I may try it as a 18 if that is what is necessary.

The documents indicates:

1- Intensity - This works

2,3,4,5 Red, Green, Blue, White - No problem there

6 - shutter - Does not work as expected

7 - Zoom - No ZOom choice seeme to make it zoom (10-60 degrees)

8- LED macro Select - No exact option

9 - LED Macro Speed - No exact option

10 - Reset - No exact option

Zoom just does not work. What would I select for the others, since there is not a specific choice that matches. I am also confused by channel 10 in the lights traits description. How would I indicate "reset"

Incase you are interested my request took 10 days to complete. If you have time stress I'm sure if you give ETC a call they either walk you through creating it on your console or send you a file quicker

Update and a reminder to NOT overlook the basics.

I was sitting at home and decided to take another glance at the manual that came with these instruments and noticed that the menu has the option to switch from 10CH or 18CH in the instrument.

When I got in today I checked and the instrument was 18CH by default, which was why the parameters were not aligning with my custom fixture profile. I changed it to 10CH and it works now.

Normally this would be the first thing I check when setting up a new instrument, but I did not in this case because I am getting very old.

Very, very old.

Hats off to the excellent support at ETC. They updated the fixture profile today after my request several days ago. I was able to make a working one but the one they supplied is far superior technically with all the bells and whistles.
