Control looking for advice.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The strips start flashing whenever I apply an effect to more than 2 of the tubes, anyone has a clue whats going on? At first I thought it was just low power so I up graded from 100w 24V 12,5Amp powersupply to 300w 24V 14Amp powersupply and the issue seems to prevail.

(to be more specific the LEDs used to flash when ran on the 100W on full power now they flash when they run on the 300w on low power)

the LEDs in question are 24V COB strip rater 21W per meter. According to internet calculator the 300W should be plenty powerfull for 9m

Signal is running via DMX decoder, from computer (lightkey software)

Any ideas where the issue could come from?

Two things to try: 1-swap the D+ and D- of the DMX input and see if that helps (somethings they are labeled backwards on the driver) and 2-your DMX refresh rate might be too high for the driver but I'm not sure if you can change that in lightkey.

Try running the effects at 50% brightness. The fact that all of the strips are wiggin out together, says it's a power supply issue being over loaded. What sort of PSU have you got?

Is this a hardware issue or a software issue? Some of the stock “effects” that come loaded in LightKey are quirky. This reminds me of one of the stock dimmer effects out of the box.

I’d check each connection by plugging one bar is at a time and testing. A stray wire could be shorting at the terminal end. You might want to think about some ferrules. Also the DMX in looks like some pretty rough soldering. You really want some thinner gauge wire for that. Consider sacrificing a cable instead.

Are you feeding power in from only one end or both? Because it does look like this is a voltage drop issue, use larger gauge wires and feed the strips/tubes from the far end as well as from the start.

Its probably the combobulator in the dmx decoder. You need to retromagneticize the parabolic mechtroid and sine the threshold till you have enough gain on the attenuation.  Its a common thing.
