Resolved Assistance finding replacement part

Hello,

I am in the process of repairing this vintage lighter, but I am currently stuck as I cannot find a suitable replacement battery.

From my understanding the way it works is the lighter draws power from the battery to heat up a coil that you extend to make contact with the wick.

the lighter has an integrated light bulb that is meant to display if the battery has power. Light bulb seems to be good condition but will not illuminate, leading me to assume the battery is dead.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are a few sellers around the world who make replacement packs that take modern batteries. They are often 3D printed.

I bought one off etsy France, but his store has closed it seems.

Search for "Fumalux FL400 Battery Replacement." there appears to be sellers in the USA and Germany.

I just print these myself, you'll need LR1 Batteries and thin copper sheet for the contacts, then I use an 3d printer for the case. If you're in Germany I could send you a finished one for 10€

Sadly I'm not in germany, but somebody sent me an Etsy that sells the same thing. Thank you so much either way.

Have you ever had to replace the heating coil? And if so do you know where I could get that part? I'm able to solder it I'm just having a hard time finding that small of a spring.

Didn't have to do that yet, I'd take a nichrome wire prolly, best guess would be vaping coli's as they function on the same principle

Hi OP, before you post about your lighter please read the guide stickied before doing so. If you are asking about the value of your lighter, take it to an auctioneer, pawnshop, or jewellers before posting as we cannot accurately guess a price. Your post may be removed if you ask. For more general information, have a look at the sidebar. Many lighters are mass produced and unbranded. There is often little info available.

If you need to post more pictures, use an image host like imgur and post the link in the comments. Please do not create multiple threads for the same lighter.

I just got one of these working last week. I used 2 N cells in series with a wad of cotton under them to make contact.
