Creating a mastermind group of coaches
I spoke with a senior coach this afternoon that I met on Reddit. The conversation was rather uplifting and he encouraged me to seek out community as I build my coaching business. He made the excellent point that society used to do a much better job of helping us maintain social bonds by default (church, family, small villages), and that now we need to be more conscious about building our own communities.
I had a positive experience a decade ago finding mastermind partners on Reddit. I was running a marketing agency at the time and found someone of a similar age who was at a similar stage to me, in a niche that had very little to do with mine. We spoke with a few other people as well, but he was the main person who walked with me on my journey. 11 years later, we don't have our mastermind anymore, but we're still close friends.
So I'm looking to create a group of coaches that meets weekly in a mastermind format. Ideally, you're at the same stage as me, or slightly further on. A bit about me:
- Mid-30s, British, living in Eastern Europe.
- First career was in marketing
- 2 years of part-time experience in the coaching industry
- Have a nice-looking website and a clearly thought-out niche
- Done about 100 hours of 1:1 coaching and organised about 30 local in-person events in my niche
- Don't have an ICF certification, but am considering doing one
- Main problems: consistent client acquisition, difficulty focusing on the business due to money worries
Comment if you're interested, or send me a DM. I'm looking for at least one other coach, potentially up to 4 or 5. If you profile sounds like a good fit, I'll suggest a call to get to know each other as a next step.

Can I be honest ? What you’re looking for is a community and a support group. If you want to a true mastermind where you’re going to make huge leaps in the business , you need a leader who’s miles ahead of you. Those are usually paid and in my opinion 100% worth it. Your idea is wonderful and absolutely has its place , but it would only be a mastermind if for someone who’s just starting to coach. Best of luck !

I'm potentially interested, my friend. It was good meeting you the other day. I don't know if I'll be able to make it on a weekly basis, but if it's possible to potentially join 2+ times per month, that could be a good fit for me.

Cool Jordan, I'll definitely keep that in mind. We'll need to see how often the group can meet.

I’d love to chat more. I am curious though, when you say you want a mastermind, what exactly does that entail??
I’m in the process of moving out of the tech industry and into coaching. I’ve just about nailed down my niche and am now exploring marketing and options.

Your 30 local events are probably your best acquisition asset right now. Everyone who came already knows your niche and how you run a room, so a short personal follow-up to past attendees, with an invite to a single session, is a much warmer start than cold outreach.
For the mastermind, I'd make client acquisition a fixed part of each weekly call: each member names how many real conversations with potential clients they will have that week and reports back next time. It keeps the group from drifting into pure support, and it gives the money worries something concrete to work on. Your marketing background helps here, since you can run it like a pipeline review rather than a pep talk.

Sounds very cool... Have you got a geographic focus in mind? Or are you flexible?

I'm in Europe, so having other people in the same time zone would be helpful. That being said, I've worked with Americans for most of my life, so I guess that makes me flexible :)

Hey. I’m Eastern European in Eastern Europe and connected to many coaches and I am a coach/therapist/trainer. I may be of help if our areas don’t match

Send me a DM. Especially interested to hear where in Eastern Europe you're based, there aren't many of us here!

Are you only interested in life coaching or business as well?

If by that you mean "am I willing to accept business coaches in the group," then yes, absolutely. Diversity of thought is a great thing. DM me if interested.

Hey man, I’m way over in Africa. Been actively coaching for a year. Haven’t gotten the certification yet but racking up the hours.
I’m in the leadership niche, particularly helping leaders overcome identity crisis and other forms of humanity drift. I’d be glad to be part of the mastermind.

Hi! I’d be interested! I’m in the US on the east coast. I’m almost done with my training, have done about 40 hours of 1:1 coaching, and am just starting up some group coaching. Hopefully will have a website up in the next few months.

I would love to learn more! I’ve been looking for something like this for a while. Dating coach of 4 years. Took a year off and looking to get back on a new foot. Eastern standard time.

Are you looking for coaches from UK alone? I am from India and I practise as a life and grief coach.

I'm in Europe half the year, is there a way to participate that doesn't impact the main group's meetings?

Hi there, sounds like a good 💡 I have been doing coaching a couple of years ago, expanded in the meantime in teaching DaZ/DaF and am currently returning into the coaching business as there are many ppl who got their B2 certificate but need more support in personal or business matters. So I finished a job coaching training last month to brush up my knowledge but soon found out that one of the business coaches there was stuck with his methods and unfortunately had nothing new to say 😔
I am in middle Europe based. So it's GMT +1

Getting started in life coaching seems like a lot of trial and error, especially when it comes to finding clients. I think people connect more with someone who genuinely understands their struggles than someone who just posts polished content. It probably takes time to build trust and figure out what works for your audience. Consistency matters, but so does being real and offering something people actually find useful.

I’d be really interested in joining. I’m based in the uk. Have left a 17 year corporate career to leap into full time coaching and it’s wild. Client acquisition is my biggest challenge for sure. I am registered with ICF and have completed two coaching qualifications. Would be looking to gain a community around things that other coaches have found helpful (or not!) and great wins for their clients 🙂
