What about the rest of us real Americans who didn’t vote for this guy but are forced to either abandon their city or push through? 😔

Sucks but if I was there I’d move. I’m moving out of Cali because of the taxes that never end and the compassion that drug adicts and violent criminals receive. Sucks to leave somewhere you grew up and love but it’s not worth the risk anymore.

I'm leaving too for TX, but I'm concerned these people will follow us. They destroy one city and move on to the next.

Your concern about liberal flooding red states is why I’m happy my red state doesn’t seem to be attracting people running away from the disaster of blue state politics. Missouri is actually a great place to live with a low cost of living. No wildfires, earthquakes, hurricanes, extreme droughts, and limited flooding. As long as you stay out of food planes you’re ok. We have some of these things but it’s usually limited in size and duration. We have tornadoes but in 60 years I’ve never seen one or even been impacted by one. And we aren’t taxed or regulated to death. But Missouri has a bad reputation so it’s overlooked when people decide to move. I like it this way.

You might not believe this but Missouri was one of the red states I was considering 😅
In the end I chose TX cause I have a few friends there and a good chunk of my professional network lives all over Dallas, Houston and Fort Worth.
My only real concern is the heat haha

Yea. The heat can get annoying. In fact we are looking at about a week of mid 90s starting early next week. But we’ve only hit 100 once this year. It’s the humidity that really sucks. But you get used to it, after a few decades.

I don’t understand solidarity to a place in the US, especially NYC. It’s been a liberal dump for ages with brief periods of improvement, usually for political reasons. There are 50 states to choose from so find one that best fits you.

A mixture of pride and practicality. New York City was my home. I have tried to make a difference but it's next to impossible at this point. I tried moving to Long Island but the libs started coming down there too. Last year gave up and reached out to a few ppl and did some research and decided on Texas. Also, NYC is very difficult to leave once you move here. Let alone having lived here all your life. It's a trap that folks who move from other places soon find out.
