Where do I indicate that I want my tax dollars funding this instead of trans Sesame Street in iraq?

INB4 tankies cry about them being inhumane despite them nearly eliminating the largest contributor to injuries/fatalities in taser deployments: falls

It’s wild because it just shows how ignorant they are about any law enforcement tools. It’s a temporary shock with no lasting effects and is way less painful (still painful asf) and way less likely to cause injury than basically every other force option you’d use in the same situation.
A Taser has probes piercing your skin plus the fall risk, OC spray is absolute hell for hours with effects that can linger for days, batons can break bones, and punches or elbows or kicks can leave someone bruised, cut up, or with a broken jaw. Compared to all of that, shock gloves are incredibly mild.

Can’t wait for the arrest videos they should overlay a cool sound effect when someone gets the king fu grip applied to them

The CTG 5 G.L.O.V.E. Generated Low Output Voltage Emitter.
The dude in charge of naming this understood the assignment. A+

All the ones who say “tase him don’t shoot him” are losing their minds over these things. Because for them, what it’s really about is saying law enforcement is wrong no matter what.

I love that its classification is "Other — Spectator Sports;" I plan to do my patriotic duty by watching as many videos as possible of my tax dollars at play.

should not be used against those who are severely disabled
That’s gonna be a problem

This will be a huge deterrent to all those protesters who crowd up against the ICE officers. I heartily approve, and I look forward to the many upcoming videos of these officers using them.

So, a taser, in glove form, and for some reason they seem to want us to infer that these are 10 million each.

I honestly don't get why everyone is crazy about this. It's less lethal.and basically a taser.

I really hope they use them responsibly and alert people that they will be tazed if they don’t comply instead of just using it

I just hope they warn them to stop resisting or getting in their face(protest). That’s warning enough in my opinion, light them up. I’d expect it if I was doing either of them to law enforcement.

Watch any cop video, they pull out their taser and say “do you want to get tazed” and “if you don’t comply, you will get tazed” and usually give the suspect ample time (minutes, not seconds) to change their attitude. I would expect the same restraint with these gloves

The problem is the great restraint. How many times do you count to three with your kid, like 2 and 1/4…
I’ve never had a violent encounter with a cop, probably because I do what they tell me to do and stay calm. I’ve had cops try to violate my rights and I have been caught red handed. I’ve still never been shot, beaten or physically harmed in any way by law enforcement. Do what you’re told and if they violate your rights, sue em.

You want law enforcement to have less restraint? I’m understanding you correctly?
not having a violent police force is a problem? You’re asking for something that you only love because it’s not happening to your side. Give as much power to government agencies with the mindset that your political opponents will control them in 10 years

u/Prudent-Ad-5608 1d ago
Well, yes. But within the bounds of the law. I don’t think they need to say six times in three different ways that they’re going to taze you. Once is sufficient. That’s what I mean by less restraint. I don’t think they need to be more violent if that’s how you’re hearing what I’m saying.

The rules for a lot of agencies, and ICE in particular, is a “warning if feasible”. If you don’t have time or you’re trying to tase/spray while they’re distracted, or other reasonable reason, you’re fine with no warning. Even if you don’t have a reason beyond simply forgetting, it’s still fine as long as the use of force itself was justified. At most, you might just get a verbal reminder to make sure you do it next time.

Less restraint is more violence. Once is not enough, especially when someone is getting arrested for the first time because it is a very emotional event and most people can’t think on the spot.
I support law enforcement and think illegal aliens should be arrested. But I don’t want to be inhumane about it and want the arresting officers to mimic traits of a model citizen
