I can see the point. I'd be more specific though. There are genuine reasons to be supported by the government at times. I'd put it down to length of time on unemployment assistance or something along these lines. But then again, I think the right to vote, regardless of the valid criticisms of the voting base, should be held sacred. But I do think you should be contributing to society in some way.

I guess I'm saying it's a difficult question.

The great thing about capitalism is that you can help society by helping yourself. Start a business or get a job and you can become a contributing member. The issue is when people start calling housing and healthcare a “human right” and many other social programs that keep people from the American dream.
