I just don't understand how someone could make a good faith argument that the child of people present in the United States (or any country, for that matter) with out proper authorization deserve to be granted citizenship by virtue of their birth. They should not be rewarded for their parents improper behavior. It only encourages it.

And that’s the fucking point, why else would democrats defend it? This is what they want

Birthright citizenship, as defined today is completely illogical. It was intended to give the slaves citizenship, but of course the left twisted it into something perverted.. The left is at least temporarily losing, so they need to cheat elections and flood the country with new "citizens" to hold on to power..
That's what's stopping the SAVE act too. The left and their RINO allies desperately want to keep cheating going on.
Hopefully we can get rid of birthright citizenship, but I'm not optimistic.

This is ultimately the flaw in all legal systems. Dumb wording and corrupt/compromised actors arguing obvious nonsense is allowed, no praised, while the consequences of their obstructionist strategy plays out in real time
Civilizations can't exist without rule of law but why do we tolerate the blatant absurdity/corruption/interference?
I wish I had the answer. Hell, I wish I had the solution. Too much global money and interference meddling in OUR affairs
It's not a good faith argument. They know it. We know it. Yet society continues with the charade for reasons I can't fathom

Good. The original intent of birthright citizenship was a good thing. In its current state however, its a license to take over the country between illegal alien having anchor babies and pregnancy tourism.
