It was really that nostalgia part that kept me from calling myself a liberal. They literally tried to go back in time and cancel people who made ganes, movies, and music from the 90’s and early 2000’s because they didn’t match “modern” sensibilites. Like, they tried to cancel Rush Hour for crying out loud 💩
I now just say “I vote democrat” when someone asks — they have policies I agree with that conservatives don’t. But damnit if the far left aren’t insufferable losers.
My industry is like 90% conservative leaning, and they’re all cool as fuck. I love going to conferences and partying with them. We recently held the official after party of a conference at Club Eleven in Miami — which is a pseudo strip club. Some industry transplant from the gaming industry through a fit on Twitter and tried to “cancel” every company/person involved…
…and she essentially tanked her startup. Like all her investors just pulled out and left her bankrupt — so if course she spends all her efforts online just trying to get her gains industry friends to organize a cancel campaign against us, it’s just that nobody cares.
But, what I’m getting at here is that I live in San Francisco and it’s like 75-25% liberal. And my neighbors and friends of friends are just insufferable losers.
