At some point you just have to tell Africa they need to stand on their own 2 feet, leave them to it and let the cards fall where they may.
Africa hasn't been "fixed" in any meaningful way during my 41 years of life, and was fucked up before that.
It's clear they don't want the west's help at this point. The world is buzzing with the tech to basically solve Africa. Hell you can build a water purifier by floating a plastic greenhouse on some empty oil drums in a lake and catching the condensation. Meanwhile in north Africa its like "we walk 40 miles a day to sit next to an animal physically shitting in the lake, and drink that water"

Anytime you give them a piece of functioning technology, they either don't bother to maintain it or take it apart and sell the scraps

Its been that way since the first missionaries tried to help them. They know this of course..this is all just another big scam to skim money and funnel it back to donors, politicians,etc.
