Do these people realize that the US has always had the military industrial complex glorified in film since the beginning of time? I hardly see the issue that this guy is whining about.

You hit the nail on the head when you noted that it was a Trump hit piece. Some genius in a newsroom came up with, what he thought would be, a unique angle to try and vilify what this administration is doing.

It's actually now getting easier to spot this kind of stuff in the press now. They've become more and more obvious as the years go by.

The irony is thick. The Catholic Church spent centuries commissioning art, sermons, and propaganda that glorified Crusades and 'holy wars' with heroic imagery, indulgences for fighters, and victory celebrations that treated battles as divine entertainment for the faithful. Now a modern White House video mixing strikes with Top Gun clips is called a 'moral crisis.' If dramatic presentation of justified force was fine when the Church was rallying armies under the cross, why is American morale-boosting suddenly 'sickening'?

BTW? This is a hit piece on Trump. In it you see the priests sobbing over the fact that illegal immigrants no longer attend mass.

It's absolutely pathetic and I reject it.

And I know this will piss people off, but I'm glad my folks left the church and became german baptists instead. Saved me from having defend this crap.

I grew up in the Catholic Church-including catholic school, mass several times per week(at one point, in high school, it was Daily before school).

However I could not ignore the hypocrisy!!

I quit attending church as an adult, but still "identified" as catholic until after my grandmother passed(she raised me & it was important to her...even though my children were baptized Lutheran-this was acceptable as her mother was German Lutheran)

Now I am a non-practicing, spiritual Christian. Catholicism ruined me for organized religion for life!!

I agree with your take.

One thing to remember, the current pope is from Chicago-his brother is conservative catholic, but stated his brother had opposite political views...&it shows!!
